From a Key West amiga this morning:
Looks like your website is down. Is everything ok?
Hope it is just a computer malfunction.
Hi, Patti – thanks for asking. The goodmorningkeywest.com website was down yesterday, but I called myself getting that taken care of last night and I’m working in it right now, so I hope you can get into it now. Today’s article is still showing, and maybe in half hour or a little longer, today’s will be showing there. Today’s will start off with an explanation of what happened yesterday, and go down or up hill from there, depending on personal points of view. Yesterday’s went up okay at goodmorningfloridakeys.com, but people not used to going there, who are not on my email hit list, didn’t know about that. If you still aren’t seeing gmkw.com, perhaps refreshing your browser will fix it. Sloan
Got it now. It needed refreshing.
So, goodmorningkeywest.com was down yesterday because the Web provider, Blue Host, had not been paid for the current fiscal year’s service. I have been having someone else, who knows about IT stuff, take care of that, and either I received a bill from him and lost it, or he did not send it. I found out the bill had not been paid by googling Blue Host and finding a phone number, and they took payment by credit card and that took care of it. The metaphysical meaning of it for me, however, is not yet clear. Perhaps there is no metaphysical meaning. If not, that will be the first time in a very long time something disruptive in my life had no metaphysical meaning. Actually, that will be the first time ever. Maybe I will take in “Noah” later today at Regal Cinema. Nothing metaphysical about that story. Get my feet planted solid on the ground :-).
Meanwhile, my friend mentioned in yesterday’s various and sundry Key West and Florida Keys win some, lose some phenomenon – mostly, it looks like Mother Nature is losing big time, but perhaps the angels have a few aces up their sleeves post, who introduced me to the young Realtor night before last, whose vote for mayor I did not earn, called last night to say what I had written about it caused bent over double laughing. I am missing my calling, running for public office, or strolling. My calling is writing. Maybe the angels heard that, but I’m not holding my breath.
Further meanwhile, a dream last night of me getting the hair on my body threatened to be shaved off by Former State Attorney Dennis Ward’s lady Mirna Hormechea, and a dream last night of a north Georgia friend amiga getting my hair cut in a barber shop, left me feeling I’m supposed to act more civilized today than is my usual custom; more civilized by this world’s standard of measure. What a downer. But then, the way I’ve been feeling physically and soulfully ever since I filed for the Key West mayor’s race has been a downer. Maybe I really am crazy listening to angels. So was Noah, and after it was all over he got drunk.
Wish I could join him, but just even a little booze makes me feel awful, as I proved yet once again the night of the “dialogue” with the young Realtor, when I had half a glass of Merlot and was chided later in a dream about that. But then, if I had not ordered the Merlot at that bar, I would not have been sitting at that bar, and I would not have met that young Realtor, and there would not have been any bent over double laughing later.
But then, what Mirna and my north George amiga’s hair cut dreams maybe were about is I don’t need today to be doing the shaman wolf thing like I was doing for saving Mother Nature from various bad influences, as reported in yesterday and the day before yesterday’s posts.
Dennis Ward being a criminal lawyer and all, I wondered on waking this morning if there might be some criminal law stuff on my plate after the sun came up today, and I was to go about it in a civilized way, which brings on that downer feeling again.
So, having written thus far into today’s genteel exposition, I must look at my email accounts, and then at the Key West Citizen, the Keynoter, and Key West the Newspaper, to see if there is anything of a criminal law nature in need of my civilized attention – dang that’s a downer feeling again.
In my email@example.com email account has been resting a few days a howler from one of my vicious van dweller criminal friends, Don Emilio, who not long ago told me that he had spoken with friends in Sicily and the Cappo had told him to tell me that they had my back covered during the mayor’s race in Key West. I bet the Cappo especially liked this from Don Emilio:
Subject: HOLY BATH NIGHT
It was time for Father John’s Saturday night bath and the novice Nun Sister Magdalene, had prepared the bath water and towels, just the way the old Nun had instructed.
Sister Magdalene was also instructed not to look at Father John’s nakedness if she could help it, do whatever he told her to do, and pray.
The next morning, the old Nun asked Sister Magdalene how the Saturday night bath had gone.
“Oh, Sister,” said the young Nun dreamily, “I’ve been saved !!”
“Saved ? And how did that come about ?” asked the old Nun.
“Well, when Father John was soaking in the tub, he asked me to wash him and, while I was washing him, he guided my hand down between his legs where he said the Lord keeps the ‘Key to Heaven’.”
“Did he now ?” said the old Nun curtly.
Sister Magdalene continued, “And Father John said that if the ‘Key to Heaven’ fitted my lock, the portals of Heaven would be opened to me and I would be assured salvation and eternal peace. And then Father John guided his ‘Key to Heaven’ into my lock !!”
“Is that a fact ?” said the old Nun, even more curtly.
“At first, it hurt terribly, but Father John said the pathway to salvation was often painful and that the glory of God would soon swell my heart with ecstasy. And it did – it felt so good being saved !!”
“That wicked old bastard,” said the old Nun. “He told me it was Gabriel’s Horn, and I’ve been blowing it for 40 years !!”
Also in my firstname.lastname@example.org email account has been resting a few days a howler with Sancho Panza:
What a spineless leader we have… he proposes, really? Hell, he got elected on the basis of changing the way government did business… yet for 6 years he has done zilch about this and it’s only now that the cat is out of the bag and elections are coming in Nov. that he gets around to “proposing” that we should not violate the constitution… what a piece of work! Hey, the whole thing is a farce!
A true lover of wisdom has hands too busy to hold on to anything! He learns by doing and every pebble in the path becomes her teacher! Oink

Obama to Propose Ending N.S.A.’s Bulk Collection of Phone Records
Under President Obama’s proposal to Congress, data about Americans’ calling habits would be kept in the hands of phone companies, according to senior administration officials. The changes would end the most controversial part of the bulk phone records program, a major focus of privacy concerns since its existence was leaked last year.
Under the plan the administration is now advocating, the officials said, the government would no longer systematically collect and store records of calling data. Instead, it would obtain individual orders from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain only records linked to phone numbers a judge agrees are likely tied to terrorism.

Is this part of what Erick Snowden got made a traitor for blowing the whistle on?
I found myself thinking, if I had been El Presidente, I would have put out word to Snowden, wherever he was, that I would give him a full conditional pardon upon his agreeing to come to work for me as my adviser on what American intelligence services were doing – CIA, NSA, FBI. Snowden would be paid the same salary and benefits he was getting before the blew the whistle. He would work for me in that capacity for so long I was in the Offal Orifice, or until I was carried out dead. Upon completion of that agreement and time served, Snowden’s pardon would become unconditional, he would be a free man, and perhaps a live hero, if not a dead like his boss.
Now I wander over to my email@example.com email account, and, lo, there waiting for me is a link to this issue of Key West the Newspaper –www.thebluepaper.com – and something from John Donnelly of Key Largo. I saw John the other night at Dennis and Mirna’s St. Patrick’s Day party. John’s is longish, and, as I discover when I open this week’s blue paper, his also is found there.
Here are direct links to several of this week’s rather exquisite blue paper articles, to which I commented in/under the blue paper articles. John’s article is the government control piece, a cover for him being a feral cat lover.
JOURNALISM AS A CONTACT SPORT
There also is lovely article on playing badminton in the soul, to which I was unable to comment, for fear of leaving my foot in my mouth.
There is plenty more of interest in this week’s blue paper; not bad for two locals who, as far as I know, ain’t getting paid to do it.

Nothing in the Key West Citizen seems on my plate today, other than perhaps my horoscope:
“Plan to keep improving. Your best efforts will yield the most rewards. Laziness on your part will erase any chance you have to get ahead. Meet your responsibilities head-on.”
Then, I drift over to the Keynoter - www.keysnet.com, and this catches my attention, as did a similar article in the Citizen yesterday:
Neugent files to run for fifth County Commission term
BY KEVIN WADLOW
firstname.lastname@example.orgMarch 26, 2014
George Neugent says he hasn’t made a final decision but it appears likely he’s running.
The incumbent Monroe County commissioner for District 2 filed campaign papers for a possible fifth four-year term Monday.
George Neugent said Tuesday that his decision to run is not yet final.
“It’s a situation where if I do decide to run, I need to be in a position to run,” said Neugent, 65.
The incumbent said after his wife came down with a serious illness, he expected his current term to be his last. As she has recovered, Neugent said, “she’s given me the green light.”
“Friends have badgered me to throw my hat in the ring for one more,” Neugent said. “And there are some loose ends that need to be tied up.”
The deadline for filing campaign papers for the Aug. 26 primary election is June 20.
Cudjoe Key businessman Danny Coll, 55, filed to run for the District 2 seat in February. Both Neugent and Coll are Republicans.
The other County Commission seat up for election in 2014 is the District 4 position. Incumbent Commissioner David Rice, a Republican, has filed for re-election. No other candidates have declared for that Middle Keys seat.
The batshitcrazy way the angels go about things, including goodmorningkeywest.com going down yesterday and George Neugent filing again, and all the sewer grinder pump commotion up Big Pine Key Way, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the angels don’t move me back up near to near where I lived on Little Torch Key, and have me play with George and Danny Coll again, like back in 2010. There is no way to figure what angels will come up with next. No way.
And, there is that wee covenant God made with me in early January 1995, on the middle of No Name Key Bridge: “Because you love this place so much, you will be used to protect it.”
Photo of today’s bridge between Big Pine and No Name Keys, right there in the middle of the hump, on the right-hand side, facing the Atlantic Ocean, that covenant was made, as I balled by heart and guts out, surrounded by pelicans in the air and sitting on the bridge railing and on the water below, all of which recollection brings tears to my eyes, again
Ces’t cera cera, but if I had to make a wager, I’d bet I’m staying down here on Gullible Travelers Island, trying, maybe, or maybe not, to be more civil than is my usual custom.
I told someone the other day that what I publish each morning is just the cover story. The back story is what happens in my life, and inside of me, leading up to the cover story being published. The back story is about 90 percent metaphysical, 10 percent physical; whereas the cover story is about 90 percent physical, 10 percent metaphysical. The metaphysical is about 1000 times more difficult on me than the physical, because the metaphysical hits me physically, emotionally, mentally and soulfully. You’d have to take a safari in my skin to really know that, and be glad you ain’t doing that.
